Who Cares? Scotland is a voluntary organisation working with and for children and young people in care. We provide a range of services to children and young people with experience of being looked after in Scotland including: advocacy, advice, information and support.

CELCIS is the Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland. Together with partners, we are working to improve the lives of all looked after children in Scotland.
There is already a great deal being done to improve children’s experiences throughout their journeys within the care system. Since being established in 2011, CELCIS has been committed to further improving the outcomes and opportunities for looked after children through a collaborative and facilitative approach that is focused on having the maximum positive impact on their lives.

Our SurvivorScotland website has been developed by the Scottish Government to improve the lives of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. For the first time, people have access to a wide range of material about abuse, all in one place. It is a networking resource for a wide variety of interested people, and it gives useful links to other websites that may also be helpful.

The Care Leavers’ Association is a not-for-profit organization, run by care leavers for care leavers. All individuals over the age of 18 with experience of being in care are entitled to full membership. We work for the benefit of all care leavers, of any age.

The Data Protection Act gives you the right to know what information is held about you, and sets out rules to make sure that this information is handled properly.

If you want to know whether information is held about you and if so what it is, you will need to write to the person or organisation you believe holds the information. This is known as a 'subject access request'.
You can ask for a copy of all the information held about you to which the Act applies. If you are not sure who to write to within an organisation address your letter to the 'Company Secretary'.
