The In Care Survivors Service Scotland was established to ensure local services across Scotland. The service will be delivered by Development Workers and trained volunteers. Development Workers will be trained counsellors with experience of providing advocacy support. To ensure that individuals can be seen in their own area we will recruit volunteers in local communities. This is in line with the community development perspective that we operate from.

Development Workers have been recruited in different areas of Scotland. They will have local knowledge and will be able to use existing networks to publicise the service. Our workers are as follows:

  • Alison Grieve – Aberdeenshire
  • Peggy Taylor – Highlands and Islands
  • Lorna Patterson – Fife, Dundee, Edinburgh
  • Sandra Toyer – Lanarkshire
  • Cath Taylor – Forth Valley
  • Alison Wren – Glasgow
  • Mandy Gazes – Borders
  • Sergio Bechelli – Ayrshire

Where possible we have placed Development Workers with partner organisations. Current partners are:

Where there is no identified partner organisation Open Secret and KASP as the main partners will host workers.

If there is no service close to you do not be concerned we can provide telephone support until we are able to locate a volunteer in your area.
