Time to be Heard

Time to be Heard is a Pilot Forum involving 98 survivors and other former residents of Quarriers who at private hearings held in 2010 described their experiences whilst in care.

The Report on Time to be Heard (the Pilot Forum) will be published on 23rd February 2011 on the Scottish Government website.

We are hosting events in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen to inform stakeholders about the results of the Pilot, the recommendations in the Time to be Heard Report and the response from the Scottish Government.

Tom Shaw, Chair of Time To Be Heard, will be presenting his conclusions and a Scottish Government representative will respond.

The events will run from 10 am to 12.30 as follows:

· Tuesday 1st March, the Apex City Hotel, Grassmarket, Edinburgh

· Wednesday 2nd March, The Premier Inn, George Street, Glasgow

· Thursday 3rd March, Jury's Inn, Union Square, Aberdeen

Early registration is recommended. Places are limited and therefore they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The number of places for each organisation may be restricted to enable as wide a range of participants to attend as possible.

These events are free and refreshments will be provided. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed for survivors and other former residents. Support will be available for survivors attending on the day.

If you wish to attend, can you please respond by email or telephone to Paul Reilly on 0131 244 3523 This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by 21st February. We will then send confirmation and further details to you.
